This policy explains how Social Parse ("we", "us") handles personal data about the people who visit the website or use the dashboard and the API. If your public posts or profile may appear in the API's results, the Public Data Notice is for you.
What we collect
- Your account: name and email, and your password, which we store only as a hash. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, the name, email and picture they share and the sign-in tokens they return.
- Workspaces: their names, members and roles, and the email addresses invited to them.
- API keys: a hash of each key and its first characters, so you can tell keys apart. We can't see a whole key once it's created.
- Usage: for each call, the key, the endpoint, the result, whether it came from the cache, how long it took and when. We don't log the parameters you send, such as handles or URLs.
- Billing: the packs you bought, when, and the payment provider's references for your payments. Card details go to the payment provider, never to us.
- Sessions: the IP address and browser of each signed-in session, for your account's security.
- Messages: what you write to us, and the emails we send you.
Why we use it
- To provide the Service: accounts, sign-in, workspaces, keys, credits, billing and your usage pages.
- To keep it secure: rate limits, and spotting abuse and fraud.
- To email you about your account: verification, password resets, invitations, and important changes to the Service or to these policies. We don't send marketing email.
- To meet legal duties, such as keeping tax and accounting records.
We don't sell personal data, use it for advertising, or train AI models on it.
Cookies
The site uses only the cookies it needs to work: one that keeps you signed in, and ones that remember your theme, the sidebar's state and the onboarding steps you dismissed. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
Who we share it with
- Service providers that run parts of the Service for us: hosting, the database and its backups, network delivery and protection, email delivery, and the payment provider, which acts as the merchant of record for purchases. They may use the data only to provide their service.
- Google or GitHub, if you choose to sign in with them.
- Authorities, when the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users, the public or us.
- A buyer or successor, if the Service is sold or merged; we'll tell you before your data moves.
Where it's processed
Our providers may store and process data in countries other than yours, including outside India. We use providers that are bound to protect it.
How long we keep it
- Account, workspace, key and usage data: while your account exists. When you close it, we delete it within 30 days, and our database's backups, kept to recover from a failure, drop it 30 days after that.
- Billing and credit records: as long as tax and accounting laws require, even after the account is closed.
- Sessions: until they expire or you sign out.
- API responses: cached for a few minutes, then deleted.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, to give you a copy of it, or to stop a use you object to, and you can withdraw a consent you gave. In India, you can also nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to. You can change your name in the dashboard; for anything else, email [email protected]. We may need to confirm it's you, and we reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
Security
Connections are encrypted, passwords and API keys are stored only as hashes, and access to personal data is limited to those who need it. If a breach affects your data, we'll tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Children
The Service is for people 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect children's data; if you think we have, email us and we'll delete it.
Grievance Officer
For questions or complaints about your personal data, including under India's Information Technology Act and Digital Personal Data Protection Act, write to our Grievance Officer at [email protected]. We resolve complaints within 30 days.
Changes
We may update this policy; the date at the top shows the current version. We'll email account owners or show a notice in the dashboard before a material change applies.
