Video transcript API
Most of what's said in short video never reaches the caption. The transcript endpoints return a video's captions as one text and as timed segments, ready to search, summarize or turn into subtitles.
Endpoints
The endpoints transcripts uses, each a GET request with your key in the x-api-key header.

How it works

FAQ
Does every video have a transcript?
Only videos with captions, including the ones the platform generates. A video without any answers 404 NOT_FOUND.
Can I get YouTube transcripts?
Not yet. The YouTube video endpoint lists a video's caption tracks; transcripts come from TikTok, Reddit and X today.
What format comes back?
JSON: the whole transcript as text, and segments with start, end and text.
